Welcome to Somesville Maine.  Somesville Maine is the oldest settlement on Mt. Desert Island.  This a beautiful little village with a lot of photo opportunities.  The foot bridge is one of the most photographed scenes in Downeast.  The village is known for having the only fjord on the U.S. East coat.  A mile high glacier formed the gouges in the land and left the 7 mile long Somes Sound with mountain tops, lakes and boulders.
