Welcome to Cherryfield, Maine.
Cherryfield Maine is part of the
Acadian region in Washington County. It is widely known as the
blueberry capital of the world. The blueberries downeast are
greatly celebrated, especially at the annual blueberry festival in
Machias. You'll see lots of blueberry
picking going on during the season. Cherryfield is a sweet little
village where the main part runs along the river bank. There are
some antique shops and galleries in Cherryfield Maine, but for the most
part it is very quiet and relaxing. The town borders Milbridge
which is where you'll find the bulk of amenities in the area. You
are close to all of the beaches in Downeast Maine here and the
Acadia
National Park Schoodic section which is just a short drive.
Cherryfield was once known as one of the best
spots to catch the now endangered Atlantic Salmon. Visitors
enjoy the park at the Cable Pool road where there is a picnic area along
the river and eagle nests can be seen. |
