This year the
Schoodic Peninsula's Schoodic Arts for All will be
hosting one of the most exciting events for 2010 in Downeast
Maine. A singing competition is scheduled for July
24, 2010 whereby American Idol Judge Kara DioGuardi has
agreed to donate her time as one of judges for this
singing competition. Funds raised for the
competition will be used to support the Schoodic Arts
for All center and the Winter Harbor Library.
This competition isn't for the TV show, it's for
Downeast Maine. American Idol
Judge Kara DioGuardi, has a home on the Schoodic
Peninsula a nd is
supporting her community in the event-- an awesome
gesture.
Anyone 13 years or older
wanting to try out must fill out the
online application no later than June 11, 2010
by 4pm. The entries are limited to the first 200
people only. There will be a closed audition on
July 8th at the Schoodic Arts For All at Hammond Hall.
Performers will have 30-60 seconds to sing with no
accompaniments. The judging will
narrow the contestants from the 30 selected and
then 10 finalists will perform on July 24, 2010.
The public will be able to attend the elimination and
final rounds and will vote by putting dollar bills in a
basket for their favorite singer. Tickets for
Admission will be $10-$20 and can be purchased from the
Schoodic Arts for All, or at the Winter Harbor 5 & 10
beginning on June 1
