Lobster Festival and Lobster Boat Races in Downeast Maine

In Downeast Maine, we celebrate lobster and the spirit of the lobstermen and lobsterwomen. It's one of those events that you just don't want to miss. Now is the time to enjoy Downeast Maine and what is stands for, the lobsters. You'll see hundreds of lobster boats gather in the Maine waters for one of the biggest parties at sea. Cheer on the lobster boats, listen to them rev up their motors setting to prove whose lobster boat is the fastest. In addition to this Maine event, there are other festivities surrounding the lobster boat races. Many folks come for the food and you guessed it, it's a big time lobster feast under tents with entertainment by local bands. There are other foods as well being cooked like blooming onions, Maine fried potatoes, kettle corn, burgers, hot dogs and sausage. There are Maine made arts and crafts, see Maine crafters display their works of art and crafts. There are also games and music galore. There are also parades to finish off the lobster celebratated the day of fun. Also, the shops are open and the streets are bustling with happy attendees. It's a great day when Downeast celebrates the lobster.

Here at Acadia National Park's Schoodic Peninsula in Winter Harbor hundreds of people arrived early and set up along Frasier Point in Acadia waiting for the races to begin during Winter Harbor's Lobster Festival.
