Ledge. This beautifully decorated and well
appointed inn has lush lawns, lovely landscaping and sits
atop an 80 foot cliff overlooking Frenchman's Bay with one
of the most spectacular stone beaches on Mount Desert
Island. This cliff, historically recognized, was
carved out by the sea into a geological masterpiece that has
attracted people for over 200 years. Known as "The
Ovens", it is part of the Bar Harbor's formation, and is one
of the most photographed seascapes in Bar Harbor.
Guests at the Bay Ledge can enjoy the beach which is just
79 steps down the etched cliff. There are 8 rooms, 3
cottages and a summer cottage that clings to the side of the
cliff. No matter where you stay at the Inn, all
accommodations have luxurious linens and comfort.
Guests also enjoy the finest lavish breakfasts featuring
Bone Appetite goodies in the sunny waterfront dining room as
