Two Maine artists were asked to paint an ornament that was hung on
the Christmas tree in the Blue Room at the White House. One of
the ornaments was a painting on a ball to represent Acadia National
Park. The tree was the centerpiece of elaborate decorations
celebrating the theme of holidays in the National Parks. The
ornaments on the Christmas tree represented the country's 391
National Park Service sites.
